To achieve a variation in your photographs, we normally advise that the engagement photo shoot take place during a contrasting season to the wedding day, however on this occasion, it was very special and important that all the magic happened on November 4th.
To mark their five year anniversary, we were asked if we could do their complimentary pre-wedding photography at their favourite family place; Earlham Park in Norwich.
It was important for the couple to have some traditional portrait / family photography with both their son and boisterous family dog Maddie, but the engagement photo ideas didn't end there and this very awesome family wanted to go a step further and transform the session into a thematic engagement shoot. If you have seen any of our favourite photographs from our website and social media, you can see that we thoroughly love a fun and creative wedding / photo shoot - but this may have topped anything we have shot before!
On the run up to the special day, we were all extremely excited and already had a long list of ideas in place. Sadly, the weather forecast had other plans and when Saturday arrived, it would not stop raining. Determined to both celebrate their anniversary and capture all of our ideas with the engagement photo props, we were fortunately all available to reschedule for the following morning - just as we wanted, a perfectly crisp, sunny and dry Autumnal day.
Starting in a corner of the park surrounded by beautiful trees, leaves and light we captured some natural, candid photography of the family interacting before moving on to something quite different...suddenly they were transformed into a little unit of superheroes! You can see from the photographs below, we all had an absolute blast - even Maddie (especially when the doggie treats came out)!
So how could they top this...well if you haven't guessed it yet, what better way to celebrate their sixth year anniversary than have their actual Wedding day and not to give too much away for the big day but the family's love for DC Batman may have a few more surprises in store yet...
Spending a couple of hours with this fun loving couple allowed us to figure out exactly how they reacted to the camera (in this case brilliantly) and the entire experience also gave them an understanding on how it will feel to be photographed throughout their wedding day and how much their faces will ache from smiling the following day! With this in mind, it should help them decide on the amount of staged / traditional friend and family wedding pictures they would like.
We look forward to capturing the couples big day on their sixth anniversary together on Sunday 4th November 2018 at Elm Farm Country House, Horsham St Faiths, Norwich.
